DOMINGO M. FERNANDEZ
RACINE - Domingo M. Fernandez, 87, passed away at his residence on Monday, April 6, 2009. He was born in Crystal City, Texas on February 6, 1922, son of the late Genaro and Narcisia (nee: Mireles) Fernandez. Domingo served honorably in the United States Army and then relocated to Racine after the war. Domingo was employed for many years at J.I. Case and also worked at the Racine Spanish Center and the Racine Urban League. He is survived by his daughters, Yolanda (Alfredo) Trinidad, Jane Trinidad, Esther (Jose E.) Ramirez, Olga (Sirildo) Sabala, all of Racine, and Connie (Donald) Tenuta of Las Vegas, Nev.; and his sons, Sam (Karen) Fernandez, Arthur Fernandez, Jessie (Janet) Fernandez, Domingo (Geralyn) Fernandez Jr., and Daniel Fernandez, all of Racine. He is further survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Margarita (nee: Perez) Fernandez; grandson, Rueben Trinidad; and daughter-in-law, Linda Fernandez. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2009. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Holy Cross Cemetery in Caledonia.
