Writers in the Round: New Heartland Voices
An "Academy Evening" event held Nov. 29, 2005, in Madison at the Overture Center for the Arts. "Writers in the Round" is a reading series featuring poets, fiction writers and essayists of diverse ethnic backgrounds--voices that are seldom heard in mainstream culture. The first evening in this series highlights Madison's Latino community with poets Oscar Mireles and Rubén Medina and fiction writer Luana Monteiro (pictured at left).
