Fast facts: Ayala will earn four varsity letters in track and field as a middle distance runner. He is competing in the 800- and 1,600-meter runs and the 1,600 and 3,200 relays. He won the 800 at the city meet on May 9. He recorded his personal best of 1 minute, 59 seconds in the 800 in winning the Sauk Prairie regional as a junior. He was fourth in the Division 1 sectional meet in the 800 as a junior. Ayala was a three-time letterwinner in cross country. He served as a co-captain in cross country as a senior when he recorded the second-fastest time on the team - 17:10 - for the 5,000-meter race.
Cumulative grade-point average: 3.8.
Favorite subject: Spanish.

How I got started in sports: I first started wrestling in first grade and competing in cross country and track and field as a freshman.
