Oscar Mireles starts as Assistant Wrestling Coach at Edgewood High School
The team (which now has five wrestlers) went to Waterloo, Wisconsin and competed in the tournament.
Edgewood wrestlers Kris Neumann (Freshman, 103 lbs.) and his brother Matt Neumann (Senior 160 lbs.) both finished the tournament in first place with 5-0 records.
Shane Sweeny (Sophomore, 130 lbs.) finished second with a 4-1 record. Derek Behnke (Senior, 135 lbs.) finished with a 3-1 record with two pins.
Joe Decker (whom I recruited, Sophomore 119 lbs.) had his first practice on Monday night, won two exhibition matches in a scrimmage at Madison LaFollette on Tuesday, got a forfeit on Thursday and went 1-3 yesterday, and would have been 2-2 if he would have gotten the pin called, instead of getting reverse at the last second and pinned with a second to go, even though he was winning the match.
Peter LaForge (Sophomore, 152 lbs.) went 1-4 at this weight but plans on wrestling at 145 lbs. net week.
