Oscar Mireles was selected as the 2009 Dane County MLK Jr. recipient.
Rev. Trinette V. McCray of Milwaukee will present the keynote address, "Inspiration of Dreams; Responsibilities of Change," at the 24th annual Dane County-City of Madison Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Observance on Jan. 19.
McCray, an advocate for those living in poverty or in a domestic violence situation, was the first clergywoman to be elected president of the American Baptist Churches.
The observance ceremony, one in a full weekend of activities sponsored by the King Coalition, will start at 6 p.m. at the Overture Center's Capitol Theater, 201 State St. Admission is free and open to all.
The event will feature the presentation of the Dane County Martin Luther King Awards by Kathleen Falk.
