State Tribute To Dr. King!
Monday, January 19th, 12 Noon, Capitol Rotunda.
America's Oldest Official State Celebration
Come and be a part of the audience as Wisconsin celebrates the 29th
Annual "Tribute and Ceremony" honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.-
Produced and directed by Jonathan Overby at the Capitol Rotunda in
Madison at 12 Noon.
This event is free and open to all.
The "DARE TO LIVE YOUR DREAM" program features WISN TV/Milwaukee News
Anchor Toya Washington, Highway To Heaven Big Band, MLK Mass Choir,
Pianist Leotha Stanley, Gospel Singer Debbie Biddle, Pianist Michael
Hillestad, Contralto Tisha Brown, Soles-Musica Mexicana, Soprano Carmen
Fisher, Harpist Karen Atz, Spoken Word Poet Diane Harris, and WI Lt.
Governor Barbara Lawton who will present the State Proclamation honoring
Dr. King and the MLK Heritage Awards honoring Milwaukee's Urban Farmer
Will Allen and, The Madison Urban Ministry. This year's event features
guest Speaker Keith Beauchamp - Filmmaker of the documentary "The Untold
Story of Emmett Louis Till".
